Range cooker round up: what’s new in the world of range cookers?

Ahead of our upcoming Cooker demonstration day where we will have visits from chef Tim Maddams, gluten free specialist Diane Van Bueren and AGA specialist Deborah Miller, we thought we’d take a little look at what’s new in the world of range cookers, beginning with new releases from AGA and Rayburn.

AGA city 60s

clip_image001Traditionally the British cooker brand AGA brings to mind images of warm country homes, golden brown pastry treats and a relaxed environment. Not something that many inner-city Londoners have much time for.

AGA’s latest cooker – the AGA City 60s – flies the flag for their “urban regeneration” campaign, aiming to convert city folk into ardent range cooker fans by showing them that AGA cookers can fit into any lifestyle.

For the image conscious, the cooker comes in a range of pastel colours and is available in both “chunky” and “slimline” designs, and for a city where space comes at a premium, the AGA City60 is half as wide as a traditional AGA oven and fits nicely inside a standard kitchen cabinet space

Rayburn 370SFW

clip_image001[4]This new cooker from Rayburn was introduced to suit the ever increasing number of home owners looking to switch to solid fuel. It features a large boiler output – 13.4kW – to be precise, and also boasts Rayburn’s largest cast iron hotplate yet.

The 370SFW has plenty of control features too, and the solid fuel or wood that is used to fire it can be regulated through thermostatic probes, control knobs and six thermostatic settings for managing water temperature.

However, far from looking over complicated, the Rayburn

370SFW has a crisp, contemporary exterior which cleverly blends the more traditional elements of range cookers with more up to date designs. It is available in eight colours too.

Anyone interested in finding out more about these cookers, as well as the extensive range of other range cooker ovens we have available here at W & H Supplies should be sure to visit our showroom on the 4th October where representatives and demonstrators from both Rayburn and AGA will be on hand to answer any questions.
